On 19 November 2014, the Reserve Bank of New Zealand unveiled the designs for a new family of "Brighter Money" banknotes with upgraded security features. Don't expect to be seeing the full haul of upgraded notes. The new designs will be released progressively, by denomination. The target release date for the $5 and $10 is October 2015, with the $20, $50 and $100s likely to be released in April 2016. The new notes have the same themes, colors, and sizes as the existing notes, and will circulate in parallel.
What do you think of the newer brighter NZ currency?
